Ideas
My brain is always buzzing with ideas. It makes it hard for me to stay focused.
As the Founder & Chair of the only student organization on campus that supports women (and other minorities) in computing, I am always thinking about ways I can enhance the membership experience for everyone involved with ACM-W at UT. My biggest fear is that people will get bored by my organization and think it is not worth joining. I have hosted a workshop, facilitated a course for a programming language, built and designed a video game...but I still feel like there's more I could be doing.
I am hosting two more workshops and a hackathon this semester. In addition to this, for National Volunteer Month this April I want our organization to provide software solutions to non-profits in the region free of charge. Are these ideas good? Are they feasible? Only time will tell. I just hope they are enough to keep people interested.
