Textorizer
For the third part of this assignment, I had the opportunity to play with textorizer! It was quite fun literally using words for visual imagery.
This picture was made using textorizer 1. It is originally a picture of a squirrel scurrying around campus, clearly terrified of the students around her. I decided to use words like "AAAHHH!!" and "yikes" to represent her emotions, and "I hate people" for comical purposes. This is still one of my favorite images from my Urban Landscapes collection and adding words to it just increased my appreciation for the moment I captured this picture.
This is the image I edited using textorizer 2. It is another one of my favorites from my collection purely because of the moment I captured it- two workers were rolling down a wheelbarrow from the rooftop of the College of Business, and the young man in this picture was strolling around, blissfully unaware of his surroundings because he was so immersed in his phone. I used a greyscale filter on purpose to give this picture a more retro look. It was supposed to be ironic because being addicted to technology is such a millennial/Gen Z problem. Another ironic thing is, the only reason I was able to pay attention to this scene is because I was specifically looking for moments to capture. Otherwise, I would be equally as oblivious because of my tendency to day dream. The paragraph I wrote for this image is pretty self explanatory!
This was a picture of a fire hydrant that I really liked because of its vibrant yellow color. I wanted to see how excoffizer would alter its appearance. I have to admit, I am not sure how I feel about this image. It makes me feel like I am stuck in a really bad nightmare.
